On Friday 28th June 2019, a group of 19 enjoyed an evening aboard the Nene Valley Railways Jolly Fisherman train trip.
We all met at Wansford Station and boarded the train. With liquid refreshment from the onboard bar the train departed and arrived at Yarwell Station where we could watch the locomotive, Bullied Pacific no 34081, 92 Squadren run round the carriages and then haul us back to Wansford and on to Peterborough. We were by then ready for our fish and chip suppers which were picked up and delivered to our tables. The journey back to Wansford was quieter as everyone tucked into their meals. The trip included a second run to Peterborough and back and everybody enjoyed the chat and banter.
The team of volunteers were all very friendly and we send them our thanks for making it a fun filled trip. Not forgetting the crew in the engine keeping the fire burning and letting off steam!
